Crash Course in NYC Subway Etiquette

If you ride the NYC subway then you are well aware that some people are less than considerate. Artist Jason Shelowitza plans to call them out it in his guerilla campaign, which will hit subway cars this week. After surveying 100 people on their top pet peeves (not service-related) while riding the subway, he narrowed the results down to the top ten, and rewrote them as a set of rules.

He tells New York magazine, although what he's doing is techincally illegal, he hopes that the "positive nature of the messages will keep [him] out of trouble...Also, I am using removable two-way tape, so they are not permanent, and leave no residue or marks behind.”
