The Most Frivolous Lawsuit. Ever.
An Erie, Pa. girl sued a local convenience store -- well, her mother filed suit -- claiming she suffered burns after the store clerk aimed a hand-held price scanner at her face.
We know it's a recession and all, but really?!?
Dominica Juliano was 12 when she and her grandmother entered the store in June 2004. They said the clerk called the girl "grumpy" and tried to get her to smile by lightly waving the scanner over the girl's face.
Her mother claimed Dominica is sensitive to light, and that she suffered burns to her face and lower eyelashes and, later, severe psychological problems, including post-traumatic stress and Tourette's syndromes.
We, know. Really?!?
Anyway, the case made it to court on Monday but the judge tossed everyone out citing lack of evidence.
Lawyers for the convenience store said the scanner is an LED light and not a laser, and it could not have caused the injuries.
