Mob Attacks Man For Stealing Genitals

A man was attacked by an angry mob in Jos, Nigeria on Tuesday, after he was accused of "employing diabolic means" to steal the genitals of a man and a woman.

...The victims, in their late thirties, were in their separate shops, at West of Mine area of the metropolis, when the suspect approached them for financial assistance. The suspect told them he was stranger, who came from Abuja on the invitation of a fellow member of an old generation church for a spiritual exercise. But while he was still explaining his plight to the duo, they both suddenly started shouting that their genitals had vanished. Their shouts attracted a mob that immediately began to beat up the suspect, before the timely intervention of some elderly passersby, who rescued him. He was subsequently handed over to the police at the State Criminal Investigative Department, which was not far from the scene. A witness told our correspondent that he was in an internet cafe when he heard some people shouting in pidgin (corrupted English): “Help me, he don thief my private part” (help me, has stolen my genital). He said by the time he came outside with others to see what was happening, the alleged suspect was already being mobbed by some people. He added that the suspect, however, kept insisting that he was innocent until he was rescued from the mob and taken to the police station. Our correspondent gathered that such incidents occur frequently in the metropolis whenever it was close to the end of the year.

This mess only happens in Africa.
