Will Smith's Massive Trailer Angers NYC Residents

Will Smith is filming "Men in Black III" in the downtown NYC neighborhood of SoHo this week and he brought with him a 1,150-square-foot double-decker trailer that's 53-feet long, has 22 wheels and weighs in at around 30 tons. Inside, the $9,000-a-week monstrosity there's a lounge, a movie room with a 100-inch screen, marble floors throughout, a large bedroom, all-granite bathroom and it has enough room on the upper floor to host a meeting of 30 people. (Oh, there's a second trailer nearby which he uses as a gym.) Residents are none too happy, saying the trailer is an eyesore and hurting business. Before you say, 'wait, he's filming a movie and needs somewhere to rest between takes', a few blocks away Will's also renting a five-bedroom, six-bathroom apartment for $25,000 a month.

Sidebar: City officials say, despite it's large size, the trailer complies with all city regulations, but in a statement this afternoon, the the mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting said, “To balance the interests of the production and the neighborhood, we have instructed 'Men in Black III' to relocate the trailer to a private lot.” the .
