Shortly after 5pm today in Miami, police tried to pull over a car they say was driving erratically. As officers tried to pull over the driver, he tried run them over then sped off. That set off an an hour-long chase down I-95, where the man threw cocaine out the window before jumping out of the car and fleeing on foot into a house with a woman and little girl inside. WTVJ's news chopper was watching his every move and cops soon swooped down on the house and arrested the not-yet identified man, who police say is an habitual traffic offender. At the time of his arrest, more cocaine was found in his socks. Note: The video has no audio.
Update, Sept. 23: He's identified as Luther Henry, 37, who has an extensive violent criminal history, including a three-and-a-half year sentence for cocaine trafficking charges. For his antics Thursday, Luther was charged with assaulting a police officer, eluding police, resisting arrest, cocaine and weed possession and driving with a suspended license. Bail was set at $25,000. Police believe he knew the woman inside the apartment, but do not believe she was trying to aid or shield him.
