Man Jailed For Carrying Viagra Sues NYC
While NYPD officers were enjoying an off day on Monday, a man was at the Bronx Supreme Court filing a lawsuit against the city and a detective. Peter Williams is suing the city and Det. Howell Daniel over a May 25, 2011 run-in, when he claims he was wrongfully arrested and jailed for two days for having a Viagra pill in his pocket, for which he had a prescription. The prosecutor refused to charge Peter and he was released. According to the lawsuit, Peter "still suffers from episodes of anxiety, anger, loss of sleep, and other impingement of emotional good health." He has also sought support and counseling from family. He's seeking unspecified damages. If you're keeping track, this is the second lawsuit against the NYPD in recent months. Earlier this year, a man sued the NYPD and the city after he says cops strangled his penis during an arrest.

Poor guy. It was only one pill and he had a prescription! He deserves to be paid damages for being jailed for two days without a reasonable cause. I don't know what to say about that other case though.
