Meanwhile, in Florida, Mayoral Candidate Claims Jesus Endorsed Her

Today is Election Day in North Miami, Florida. One of the seven candidates running for mayor is a shoe-in to win because Jesus has endorsed her. At least that's what the voices in her head told her. Anna Pierre -- a registered nurse who emigrated from Haiti in the 1980s where she had a pop hit called "Suk Su Bon Bon," or "Put Some Sugar On the Candy" -- told a local TV station she received three signs that Jesus was her endorser. She declined to reveal the "signs," but promised she'll reveal them in her memoir. Girl, bye!

Sidebar: Anna alleges opponents left dolls with needles at the front of her home, which she claims was an attempt to perform a voodoo hex against her.

UPDATE: According to unofficial results posted on the North Miami government Web site, Anna received a total of 56 votes (0.83%). She finished in last place. Possibly this was the Jesus who endorsed her.
