Lady Shot Dead After Firing at Police Officers From Backseat of Police Cruiser
A woman is dead after police said she opened fire in the back of a police cruiser early Thursday evening in Atlanta. According to police, they took took 25-year-old Alexia Christian into custody after she was found driving a stolen vehicle. She was also in possession of drugs and had a an outstanding warrant. While in the backseat of the police cruiser, Alexia got out of the handcuffs, reached for her handgun and fired two shots at the officers. The officers returned fire, killing Alexia. The officers were not hurt. Police are investigating whether officers searched Alexia, who has a LONG rap sheet -- which includes arrests for stalking, battery, "using fighting words," driving with a suspended license, theft, auto theft, possession of cocaine, marijuana sale, robbery, and gun possession. This shooting comes days after another Atlanta was was jailed after threatening to shoot and kill "all white cops."
