College Student Pulls Gun On Someone in Library Because They Were Sitting in a Seat She Wanted

A Northern Kentucky University student was arraigned Friday on charges after she pulled a gun another student in the school's library because she wanted her seat. Jaylin Johnson, 23, of Covington, Kentucky is charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon without a license, menacing and disorderly conduct. At a video arraignment, she was ordered held on $5,000 bond and ordered to have a mental evaluation. According to the prosecutor, Jaylin entered the library Thursday morning and pulled a .380-caliber handgun out of her backpack, pointed it someone and told the seated person to move. Officers soon arrived and located Jaylin, who admitted to having the gun -- which had live rounds, but was jammed due to a misfeed -- in her bag and gave it to police. She didn't have a concealed-carry permit. She was arrested and taken to jail where she was offered an opportunity to plead guilty and accept a 180-day sentence, with all but 30 days suspended, but she refused.

Antonio Nieves, 28, and Amy Schafer, 27, are facing child neglect charges after they left their 3-month-old on a sidewalk while they went drinking at a bar in Margate, Florida at 1:30am Tuesday. According to police, the couple brought the infant the bar and put the baby on a bar stool, but the manager told them babies aren't allowed. The couple then put the baby out on the sidewalk.

Lady Stabs Handicapped Woman to Death Who Accidentally Bumped Into Her While Getting Off Bus

Here's another case of the world going mad. Then again, this is Detroit.

A 50-year-old woman with a walker was stabbed to death on a public transit bus on Detroit’s west side after an argument between her and another woman spiraled out of control, according to police. The woman who reportedly carried out the stabbing was still at large late Wednesday. The incident happened around 3:45 p.m., just as a Detroit Department of Transportation bus was letting off passengers near Rosa Parks and West Grand River, said Capt. Nick Kyriacou with Detroit Police. As the victim woman moved to get off, she bumped into another woman, 30, who was trying to get on, said Sgt. Michael Woody, a police spokesman. That sent the two into a physical altercation that culminated in the younger woman stabbing the other woman, Kyriacou said. Julian Smith, 34, of Detroit, says he was just a few feet away when the attack started. He was heading home after college classes and watched the assailant engage in a verbal argument with the 50-year-old before the assailant suddenly wielded a knife and began stabbing the woman with the walker more than 10 times. In the ensuing seconds, there was an “avalanche” of people pouring out of the halted vehicle. The assailant was pulled away from the scene by a bystander, who then led her off the bus before she took off running. The victim was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead. The victim’s name has not yet been released because the family has not been notified, Kyriacou said. [..] “It was just a really silly argument that just got totally out of control,” Smith said. His account differs with the police: he said the assailant was already on the bus before it stopped, and that the two had gotten into an unnecessary fight because the older woman kept rambling to no one in particular. The bump with the walker then caused the other woman to produce the knife. Smith added: “You don’t see somebody getting murdered every day. I don’t know if I’ll ever forget that.”

Walmart to Stop Selling Assault Rifles

On the same day a madman murdered two journalists on live TV in a racially-motivated attack, Walmart, the world's largest retailer, said it will no longer sell assault rifles in its stores in the United States.

Walmart Stores Inc, the United States’ top seller of guns and ammunition, said on Wednesday it would stop selling the AR-15 and other semi-automatic rifles at stores because of sluggish demand and focus instead on “hunting and sportsman firearms.” Company spokesman Kory Lundberg said the decision was not related to high-profile incidents involving the rifles, including the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012. “This is done solely on what customer demand was,” said Lundberg, confirming a report by business news website Quartz. “We are instead focusing on hunting and sportsman firearms.” Lundberg said Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, would stop selling a class of rifle called the modern sports rifle (MSR), which includes the semi-automatic AR-15. He said that class of rifle was sold in fewer than a third of its roughly 4,500 U.S. stores. The decision is part of a regular “reset” of its sporting goods department for the fall, Lundberg said.

TV Reporter, Cameraman Shot Dead By Disgruntled Former Co-Worker During Live Broadcast

A young reporter and her photographer were gunned down by a former co-worker during a 6:45am live broadcast in Moneta, Virginia.

Two journalists were shot to death Wednesday morning while broadcasting live from a strip mall in Moneta, Va., near Roanoke, the police said. Video from the shooting appeared to show a television crew from WDBJ7 in Roanoke being hit by gunshots. The station confirmed that its journalists had been shot. According to WDBJ, the Roanoke affiliate of CBS, the two journalists, Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, a 27-year-old photographer, were covering a story at Bridgewater Plaza, a lakeside shopping and recreational sports plaza, when they were shot. A video of the shooting, which contains disturbing footage, was distributed online shortly after the episode. In the video, Ms. Parker is seen interviewing a woman, and then jumping back and screaming as shots ring out. Eight shots can be heard before the camera cuts back to an anchor at the station. According to The Roanoke Times, the woman being interviewed was Vicki Gardner, head of the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce. She was shot in the back and is in surgery, the paper reported.

The killer (pictured, below) has been identified as 41-year-old Vester Lee Flanagan II, who was a reporter at WDBJ using the alias Bryce Williams. He was fired from the station for unknown reasons in February 2013. (Update: The WDBJ general manager says the killer was a known "trouble maker" and was "difficult to work with." He adds: "After many incidents of his anger coming to the fore, we dismissed him and he didn't not take that well. We had to call the police to escort him out of the building.") After his identity was revealed, he tweeted "I filmed the shooting" and posted GoPro videos of the killings to his Twitter and Facebook pages (which were deactivated); he also claimed Alison made racial comments about him. In May 2014, Vester filed suit against WDBJ seeking money he felt he was owed and additional damages. His suit alleged discrimination by the station and named most of the WDBJ staff in his complaint, but in July 2014, the case was dismissed by a judge. Court records also show that he sued WTWC in Talahasse, Florida for racial discrimination after the was fired in 2009.

Update: ABC News reported that it has received a fax containing a 23-page manifesto from Bryce Williams. The document has been handed over to investigators, ABC said.

Update #2: Vester, AKA Bryce committed suicide. Authorities confirm he shot and killed himself outside of Washington, DC. Good riddance. Now that two of their own have been murdered in a racially-motivated hate crime, we only hope the national media will now stop being so politically correct in their coverage.

Update #3: ABC News has released these excerpts from the killer's manifesto:

In the 23-page document faxed to ABC News, the writer says “MY NAME IS BRYCE WILLIAMS” and his legal name is Vester Lee Flanagan II.” He writes what triggered today’s carnage was his reaction to the racism of the Charleston church shooting:

“Why did I do it? I put down a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on 6/17/15…”

“What sent me over the top was the church shooting. And my hollow point bullets have the victims’ initials on them."

It is unclear whose initials he is referring to. He continues, “As for Dylann Roof? You (deleted)! You want a race war (deleted)? BRING IT THEN YOU WHITE …(deleted)!!!” He said Jehovah spoke to him, telling him to act.

Later in the manifesto, the writer quotes the Virginia Tech mass killer, Seung Hui Cho, calls him “his boy,” and expresses admiration for the Columbine High School killers. “Also, I was influenced by Seung–Hui Cho. That’s my boy right there. He got NEARLY double the amount that Eric Harris and Dylann Klebold got…just sayin.'"

In an often rambling letter to the authorities, and family and friends, he writes of a long list of grievances. In one part of the document, Williams calls it a “Suicide Note for Friends and Family."

He says he has been attacked by black men and white females
He talks about how he was attacked for being a gay, black man

“Yes, it will sound like I am angry...I am. And I have every right to be. But when I leave this Earth, the only emotion I want to feel is peace....”

“The church shooting was the tipping point…but my anger has been building steadily...I’ve been a human powder keg for a while…just waiting to go BOOM!!!!”

Update #4: NBC is reporting that police found a wig, six magazines of ammunition, a to-do list, 17 stamped letters, a briefcase that contained three license plates, a shawl, and an umbrella in the car the murderer was fleeing in before he killed himself.

Lady Who Married Mother's Boyfriend Murdered Her Three Sons Out of Jealously

A 23-year-old woman from Bellefontaine, Ohio who admitted to killing her three sons over a 13-month period out of jealousy at the attention her husband paid them was indicted Tuesday on aggravated murder charges. Prosecutor William T. Goslee said he will seek the death penalty against Brittany Pilkington. The prosecutor say Brittany used each boy's comfort blanket to suffocate him in his crib or bed because she wanted her husband to pay more attention to her and their 3-year-old daughter.

Bellefontaine police say that Pilkington confessed to killing 3-month-old Noah Pilkington, on Aug. 18; 4-year-old son, Gavin Pilkington on April 6 of this year; and 3-month old Niall on July 22, 2014. She has been held on a $1 million bond in the Logan County jail since Aug. 18, the day Joseph Pilkington called 911 and said he had come home from work and found their son, Noah, not breathing in his crib. Prosecutors say Mrs. Pilkington told investigators later that day that she had suffocated all three sons because her husband paid more attention to them than he did to their daughter, Hailey, who turned 4 on Monday. Noah and Hailey had been in foster care, but a Family Court judge returned them to their parents a week before Noah died. Hailey is now in the care of paternal relatives. Goslee said after he filed the new charges on Tuesday afternoon that the grand jury met for about two hours, with about half that time taken up by the prosecutor’s case and the other half listening to information about Mrs. Pilkington's troubled upbringing. Mr. Pilkington had once had a long-term relationship with Mrs. Pilkington's mother and they had all lived together when Mrs. Pilkington was a teenager. He got her pregnant with Gavin when she was 17. In addition, Goslee has said Mr. Pilkington kept his wife isolated from her family and friends during their marriage, even as she birthed four babies in five years and raised them with little help while he worked, mostly as a mechanic. Goslee has said repeatedly that there are no excuses for what she did, but also said that when the case goes to trial, he knows the judge and jury will consider her past.

The state says Brittany was dominated and isolated by her 43-year-old husband, Joseph Pilkington. Before marrying Brittany in 2010, Joseph (who is not a suspect in the murder cases) was the live-in boyfriend of Brittany's mother, Lori Cummins. Lori told investigators her daughter was always good with the children and that Joseph favored the 4-year-old son over the 3-year-old daughter. This, according to Lori, bothered Brittany, who said the children should be treated equally. The county prosecutor has alleged Brittany was physically abused as a child by her father. Her father, Ed Cummins, said he wasn't present when she grew up and he regrets it. He denies physically abusing Brittany, who's on suicide watch behind bars.

Church Excommunicates 92-year-old Woman For Not Tithing

A 92-year-old woman is no longer allowed to worship at First African Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Georgia because she doesn't have any money to tithe. Josephine King, who was a member of the church for more than 50 years before she was kicked out, was unable to attend church services for several months because she was ill and unable to leave her home. She's 92 years old! Senior Pastor Derrick Mike sent the elderly woman a letter that read, in part: “Josephine King is no longer considered a member of the First African Baptist Church of Bainbridge, Georgia.” He noted the reason for her excommunication: Ms King "has shown non-support" towards the church in the areas of "constant and consistent financial and physical participation." She hasn't been able to financially support the pastor, er, church because she's 92 effin' years old and has no effin' income! Ms King's nephew puts it best: "You have to have money to make these churches run, but it's not about money. It's about God. You have to put God first." Amen to that.

Man Sees Random Stranger in Parking Lot, Tries to Stab Her to Death

A 19-year-old man from Memphis, Tennessee was arrested on Friday and charged with first-degree murder after he admitted to police he tried to kill a woman he found in a parking lot. According to an affidavit, Lloyd Green admitted he wanted to kill a woman, identified as Krystal Davis. The affidavit said after Lloyd spotted Krystal (whom he didn't know) sitting in her car in the parking lot, he went back to his house, grabbed a knife, ski mask and gloves, and came back to stalk her. He approached her and asked if she needed help then stabbed her repeatedly in the thigh. She also suffered cuts to her calf and right hand. Krystal was able to escape and drove to a local police station. When cops went to the parking lot, they found Lloyd there pretending to be a witness. Once taken into custody he told cops he planned to slit the Krystal's throat to kill her. Why? No one -- except him and the voices in his head -- knows. He remains jailed on $5 million bond.

Bobbi Kristina's Family Accuses Nick Gordon of Murdering Her

The family/estate of the late Bobbi Kristina are psychic mediums, criminal investigators and forensic pathologists. Apparently. Last June, they filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend, Nick Gordon, alleging he physically abused her and took $11,000 from her bank account while she was in a coma. Today, they amended that complaint and added a wrongful death count. The amended lawsuit accuses Nick of giving Bobbi Kristina a “toxic cocktail” and putting her face-down in water. According to the complaint, on the night of January 31, Nick returned to the home he shared with Bobbi Kristina “from being out all night on a cocaine and drinking binge.” The suit goes on to say Nick watched video footage of Bobbi Kristina inside the home and they two got into a “loud argument," during which Nick accused her of cheating. During the fight, the complaint alleges, Nick gave Bobbi Kristina the "cocktail rendering her unconscious and then put her face down in a tub of cold water causing her to suffer brain damage." The suit then claim Nick “came out of the master bedroom wearing a different set of clothing than he was wearing prior to his argument with Bobbi Kristina" then "he got in bed and laid his head on female guest’s ankle and stated, ‘Now I want a pretty little white girl like you.’” How do they know this? From our recollection, Nick has not been charged with a crime and hasn't yet talked to police, but he tell his side of the story in a dramatic interview with Dr Phil. Bobbi Kristina, who abused drugs, was comatose since she was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub on January 31. (She died in hospice care July 26 at age 22.) Furthermore, an initial autopsy found no obvious cause of death and the medical examiner’s office said it would likely take several weeks to rule on a manner and cause of death. Curiously, why is the estate filing this lawsuit? Is it because Bobbi Kristina and Nick were indeed married and, as her widower, he would be entitled to her $20 million inheritance? And, how does the Brown-Houston family plan on proving their case in a court of law? And are they suggesting Bobbi Kristina wasn't part of that night's "cocaine and drinking binge"? HA! The circus has officially begun. Time to go get more popcorn.

Update, Aug 8: Nick's lawyers have their own questions about the validity of the complaint, too. They released this statement: "The recent lawsuit against Nick is slanderous and meritless. Nick has been heartbroken and destroyed over the loss of his love and it's shameful that such baseless allegations have been presented publicly. Nick has engaged civil counsel and intends to defend the lawsuit vigorously and expose it for what it is: a fictitious assault against the person who loved Krissy most."

Woman Pays Man $20 Not to Rape Her

Police in New York City are searching for a man who attempted to rape a woman near McCarren Park in Brooklyn. According to police, the 24-year-old woman was walking near the park around 11:30 p.m. on Aug 1 when the suspect ran up, grabbed her by the neck, and began fondling her genitals. He told her was going to have sex with her. The woman pleaded with the man and offered him money not to harm her. The suspect agreed to take the money, and went with the woman to an ATM where she took out $20 and handed it to him. The perv -- described as a black man and wearing a hat, jeans and a tank top -- then ran off. Police released surveillance video of the suspect, above.

Man Faces 20 Years in Prison After Robbing a Man at Knife Point for $1

A 32-year-old felon from Jersey City, New Jersey may face up to 20 years in prison after robbing a man at knife point and demanding $1. Michael Gerst is charged with first degree armed robbery, resisting arrest and a weapons offense related to a red-handled steak knife in connection to the Aug. 3 incident, according to police. Although first degree armed robbery carries a possible prison sentence of 10 to 20 years, the public defender argued at Michael's initial court hearing on Friday that it would be more appropriate that he be charged with aggravated assault. At the time of his arrest, cops found the knife on Michael. According to the court, Michael has six prior arrests, two disorderly persons convictions and a criminal conviction for attempted arson. His bail is set at $80,000.
