50 Cent Hasn't Received the Memo on Joaquin Phoenix

We've reported before about actor Joaquin Phoenix's desire to quit a successful acting career to become a rapper.

Back then, however, we didn't know all the facts. But, now we do. It's all a publicity stunt; Joaquin isn't actually quitting acting. In fact, this whole story about wanting to become an rapper is an act. He's acting. The mockumentary is directed by Casey Affleck and produced by ... wait for it ... Diddy.

So, people, this is all for TV and it's not real.

Anyhoo, 50 Cent is either playing a role in the film or doesn't simply doesn't know it's a ploy. Either way, he told Blackvoices he wants to mentor Joaquin and work on this supposed album.

He should write about the things that he has real interest in, the things that he has been influenced by. Because, when an artist writes something that’s totally away from their experience period, it can’t be embraced. Like when you have a former correctional officer (Rick Ross) write from the biggest drug dealers in Miami’s perspective they don’t get it.”

Look for Joaquin's "film" on being a "rapper" to hit theaters sometime soon.
