Madonna paid $40 million (yes, that's US dollars) for this 12,000 square feet, four-story Upper East Side four-story townhouse.
We've walked by this place several times, but had no idea it was this fabulous.
It boasts 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms and she was able to pay $5 million less than the asking price, even though no other property in this area of Manhattan has ever sold for that much.
The new digs features a two-car garage, a 3,000-square- foot garden, nine fireplaces, an elevator and a wine cellar with a grotto.
