Irv Gotti Drops Ashanti From The Inc.

Poor, Ashanti. She's about to be without a record label.

In an interview with MTV, Irv Gotti, president of The Murder Inc, revealed that he intends to drop Ashanti, who has been with the label since the beginning of her career as an artist seven years ago.

"The relationship has run its course," he said. "The chemistry of what's needed — we're in two totally different places. You're talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. We [hold the record] for the [fastest] selling debut by a female R&B artist — 503 [thousand]. We did it! My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up....So that relationship has run its course and honestly, I'm gonna just drop her.

“We don’t really speak or talk or anything like that,” he continued. “It’s sad in a way. But in another, it’s like it’s all good.”

We hope he informed Ashanti beforehand, because it would hurt to find out - via the Internet - the man you were having sex with for all those years, the one who made you a star, is dropping you like a hot potato. Damn. Damn. Damn.

BTW: Is Ashanti still relevant? Who is looking forward to another Ashanti album? Not us.
