Daytime talk is competitive and cut-throat, some shows go years without an Emmy nomination or win. So, when Tyra won the Emmy for Best Informative Talk Show - her second in two years - Dr Phil, who was nominated for best talk show host or best talk show seven times but never won one, was allegedly furious and snubbed Tyra after she tried to hug him backstage, the Enquirer reports.
Dr Phil blew a gasket when Tyra Banks beat him out for a Daytime Emmy Award - and he was so angry that he refused to hug her backstage, sources say.According to the report, Dr Phil may have been pissed because his show's rating continue to plummet -- in 2005 an estimated 7.2 million people were tuning in to his show, now just 2.5 million are -- and with the introduction of shows like Wendy's and Dr Oz's, "this was probably Dr Phil's last shot at winning a Daytime Emmy."
"Dr Phil was upset," said an inside who witnessed the self-help guru's snub.
"He thought he was a shoo-in to win because he'd submitted the 1,000th episode of his show. It featured Oprah, and he hoped that voters who love Oprah would vote for him. But they didn't."
Instead voters named 'The Tyra Banks Show' as "Best Informative Talk Show."
"After Tyra won, she walked over to give him a hug backstage, but he turned around and stalked off," said the insider.
"But Tyra was so happy that she wasn't going to let it ruin her moment. She leaned over to a pal rolled her eyes and said, 'Whatever...'
"Dr Phil's wife Robin tried to console him."
He ought to look down!

Ughh screw "Dr." Phil. He thinks because his pimp made an appearance that warrants an award? Right. His shows are just not chatworthy, lets be serious.
honestly though, Tyra Banks? informative? ... hardly...definitely not two years in a row
The reason his rating plummeted is because he was trying to shove octomom down the public's throat. People saw right through it and stopped watching his show.
