Oprah Takes Alleged Wife Beater BeBe Winans Off Her Show
After many, many people criticized Oprah for having alleged wife beater BeBe Winans on her show, the talk show queen has removed the gospel singer from her "karaoke challenge" until charges against him are resolved.
Oprah has gone on record to say she isn't down with domestic violence -- she even dedicated an entire show to the topic following Rihanna's beatdown.
"Domestic violence is something that I wouldn't tolerate. Period," she said.
It was not clear, however, if Oprah had been aware that her FRIEND BeBe was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault in the Feb. 13 incident, where he became crazy and pushed his ex-wife to the ground. OK, allegedly.
BeBe has a court date set for Jan. 20.
In other Oprah news: She is reportedly moving her daytime talk show, which is controlled by CBS, to her namesake cable channel, OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) in 2011 on its 25th anniversary. The current Discovery Health Network will become Oprah Winfrey Network. According to bloggers Nikki Finke and Roger Friedman, two people who know their stuff, Discovery gave her an ultimatum: move her very successful daytime talk show to OWN, or they'll walk.
In even more Oprah news: For the second time since it's inception, Oprah is accompanied by another person on the cover of O magazine. Fellow talk show host Ellen DeGeneres appears on the December edition of the magazine. (MObama was the first person to share the cover with Oprah.)
