'Wipeout' Contestant Dies

Anyone who has seen Wipeout, the ABC competition reality show, knows it's equally hilarious and dangerous.

Now, we learn how dangerous the show can be.

A 33-year-old contestant died Nov. 5 after suffering a stroke, according to the folks over at TheWrap.

Two weeks ago Tom Sparks was participating in a stunt, on the show which is currently taping its third season, when he complained of knee pain. He was told to stop. Not long after on-set medics "noticed that he was experiencing shortness of breath, and he was taken to a local hospital for further examination." While at the hospital he had "several" brain surgeries.

It's not known if Tom suffered a stroke while performing the stunt, sources say he did suffer from antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS), a disease that causes unnatural clotting of the blood.

Of you've never seen the show, this video will give you an idea of how ridiculously funny and dangerous it is.
