Buju Banton has been battling the gay community for maybe years now (first for his "murder" music then he was charged with allegedly putting the beatdown on six gay men outside his Kingston, Jamaica recording studio in 2004), now he's in real trouble -- the Drug Enforcement Administration is on his ass. Last Thursday the DEA arrested him in Miami after he tried to buy five kilos of cocaine from an undercover agent. Cops say Buju negotiated the purchase and inspected the cocaine offered by the undercover officer. Suffice it to say, he was quickly taken down and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute; he's currently sitting in a federal prison in Miami. We know nothing about cocaine, but we read somewhere that five kilos is about 15 pounds of coke. Aside from Bobby , Whitney, and Amy Winehouse, who has time to smoke all that stuff? Wait, since he was in Florida, maybe he was heading over to record producer Scott Storch's house. It should be interesting to see how Buju defends these charges? In 2004 he made the argument that two mature marijuana plants magically started growing on his property while he was out of the country and he had nothing to do with it. Right.
