Man Sues Jay-Z's 40/40 Club After Beatdown

As we suspected (and encouraged) the 40/40 nightclub (owned partly by Jay-Z) has been sued after 13 bouncers beat up two men.

Last month, cameras were rolling as Tyrell Durant and Bryant Norwood were brutally attacked outside of the Atlantic City nightclub. Their friend, Leonard Clark, was also said to have been attacked, but it wasn't show on video. (All of the bouncers involved were fired.)

Bryant has now filed a lawsuit seeking a "substantial amount of money" for his "diverse personal injuries" and "permanent injuries."

Bryant's lawyer, Thomas Mallon, issued this statement:

"Mr. Norwood paid $40 at the door to get into the 40/40 Club to have a good time with his friends, but he ended up being kicked out and beaten by club employees. DJ Zeke’s footage clearly shows that Mr. Norwood was the victim of a vicious beating for no reason. Filing this lawsuit means that these so-called security personnel are going to have to answer why Mr. Norwood was lying on the ground being kicked and why he was punched in the head as he tried to escape from them. The 40/40 Club is going to have to answer why they hired people like this to supposedly protect their patrons and maintain order in their establishment."

In the aftermath of the beatdown, two club employees have filed police reports against Tyrell and Leonard, claiming the men were drunk and started the fight inside the club. Staffers also accuse Bryant of harrassing female patrons and was trying to go inside the women's restroom. A former bouncer, who stands 6 foot tall and weighs 290 pounds, says Leonard punched him before the videotaped brawl.

BTW, Tyrell said the bouncers stole his watch and cash.
