WATCH: The Story of Slavery

Everyone once in a while we ask you to spend the time to watch certain videos, this is one of them. Free the Slaves is an organization with one singular mission -- to end slavery worldwide. While you may think slavery no longer exists -- or only exists in Africa -- then you would be misinformed. In fact, the organization says there are more people enslaved today than ever. They say there are some 27 million slaves around the world and the vast majority are those are in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. Why is this? Because "many are held in debt bondage slavery, a system in which a person (and often his or her family as well) are held as collateral against a loan." The organization also says there are at least 10,000 slaves in the United States.
