Richard Hatch, who was the first winner of Survivor, has a love-hate relationship with the IRS. The government agency loves to go after him and other tax evaders, and Richard hates that.
On April 9, the IRS filed $1,742,711 tax lien against Richard for unpaid taxes on income he earned in 2000 and 2001, according to the Detroit News.
In 2006, he served 51 months in prison for failing to pay taxes on the $1 million he won from the show and on other earnings. Last year, he spent a month in prison for unauthorized media interviews while on his three-year supervised release after serving his sentence.
