Pope: French First Lady Carla Bruni Not Welcome at Vatican

Before his visit to the Vatican earlier this month, Pope Benedict XVI told President Nicolas Sarkozy of France that his wife Carla was not welcome because the Italian media may publish racy photos of the French first lady.

According to reports, Vatican officials sent the French ambassador an unambiguous message titled "Carla Sarkozy is not welcome in the Vatican." It continued: "The Holy See want(ed) to avoid photos showing Carla and the Pope together on the front pages next to older but saucier photos (of Carla)."

The photos, of Carla in various forms of undress, are from her days as a model. Plus, she also has a sex tape!

As ordered, Carla remained in Paris as her husband traveled to the Vatican to meet with the Pope.
