More than a month after Shawntia Hardaway claimed her son, R&B singer Mario, beat her ass in their shared apartment and she feared for her life, she has recanted her story and, as a result, the second-degree assault charge was dropped.
According to WBAL, Shawntia, who was the "the state's only witness in the case, said her son never touched her" and "she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she called police."
