Wife Beater Terrence Howard Slapped With Divorce Papers

Michelle Howard (neè Ghent) has filed for divorce from her husband of one year, actor Terrence Howard.
In court documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com, Michelle states that they were married on January 20, 2010, and separated on January 27, 2011. The couple have no children together. Michelle is seeking spousal support, and cites the California standard of ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the split. She’s requesting Terrence pay her legal fees. The 41-year-old star previously married, then divorced, then married Lori McCommas, in 1989 and then in 2005, and they have three children together.
His marriage to Lori pretty much ended after he punched her in the face. No word as to what exactly precipitated this recent divorce filing - but only time will tell. BTW: How You Doin, Terrence.

UPDATE, Dec 6: Now, we know why. According to documents filed in court today, Michelle says Terrence (shocker!) beat her ass! She alleges, in fact, the beatdowns began seven days into their marriage and continued until she finally filed for divorce and as recently as last week, he threatened her in a text message. Michelle says Terrence "slugged [her] across [her] face and neck," threatened to throw her off a balcony, backhanded her across the face while wearing his wedding ring which resulted in her chipping a tooth and threw her down to the ground in a parking lot. Then, she says he told her: "I'll hit a woman quicker than I'd hit a man" and "If you tell anyone about my personal business, I will kill you and no one will ever know." Whhhhhaaaaaaaaaattttttttt?! After the hearing today, a judge awarded Michelle a temporary restraining order preventing Terrence from coming within 100 yards of her until their next court hearing scheduled for Jan. 17. Sidebar: Terrence has denied these allegations, saying Michelle is trying to extort him and is threatening to release nude images and videos of him to the tabloids if he doesn't cough up some dough.
