Jesus Christ on Trial For Disciplining Those Who Disobeyed Him

Dalton Cornelius Jones of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, is currently on trial for hitting a young girl in the face and striking her with a broom handle because he didn’t think the girl respected him. According to his wife, Shealynn Jones -- whom he's also accused of assaulting -- Dalton thinks he's Jesus Christ.

Dalton Jones also told her he could do whatever he wanted because he was Jesus Christ, Shealynn Jones testified. And on another occasion, the accused told her he was "the new Jesus Christ" and had come to "mooch off everybody." He also changed his name on Facebook to Jesus, she said. Shealynn Jones also told the court she had planned to leave her husband and when she told him that she was leaving him, "He said, ‘The only way you’re leaving is if you’re six feet under and I put you there.’ " When she told him he wasn’t Jesus, he hit her twice in the face, Shealynn Jones said.
