Evelyn Lozada Sues MediaTakeOut For Defamation
Evelyn Lozada, who stars on VH1's "Basketball Wives" -- a show about women who are, or at one time were, romantically linked to NBA ballers -- has had it up to here with Fred and Dem over at MediaTakeOut manufacturing and disseminating lies about her, so she's taking them to court. According to a lawsuit (read, below) filed last Thursday in Miami, Evelyn is suing the Web site for defamation after it published two "articles" claiming she was cheating on her fiancé, Chad Ochocinco, with his friend, Terrell Owens, and she was pregnant and planning to quit the "reality" show. Evelyn says she demanded the site publish a retraction, but Fred and Dem told her: Put that where? Way back there. So, she decided to sue. Evelyn claims she's "suffered reputational and professional damage, damage to her business, and severe emotional distress." She's demanding a jury trial and an amount in excess of $15,000.
Sidebar: In case you're confused and wondering why Evelyn's on a show called "Basketball Wives" when she's engaged to an NFLer, she was at one time engaged to NBA baller Antoine Walker. Plus: Earlier this year, a woman, who was misidentified as Chad's baby mama, slapped several media outlets with a defamation lawsuit.
