Wells Fargo Leaks Customers' Personal Information

If you're a Wells Fargo Bank customer in Florida or South Carolina, monitor your accounts and order a credit report freeze, because your personal information has been compromised. The bank has created a major snafu, sending other customer's bank statements to other customers. In a statement, a bank spokesperson said: "I don't have a number of customers that may have received incorrect information. But, we believe only a small percentage of customers who opened their accounts in South Carolina are affected." That sounds like a lot of people to us, and the bank is trying to cover their butts. Wells Fargo says the error occurred because of an in-house printer malfunctioned as September statements were being printed. They're planning to give all affected customers one year’s free identification theft protection.
