Former NFLer Deion Sanders, who was cited after an altercation with his estranged wife Pilar Sanders in their home on April 23, is facing a more serious charge of criminal mischief after investigators say he "destroyed a phone in an attempt to hide evidence." Deana Boswell says she was videotaping the incident with her cellphone and captured Deon "striking Pilar in the head with a statue." The Secret Service is now examining the phone in attempt to retrieve the video. Deion maintains he never assaulted Pilar. The
UPDATE, May 3: During Thursday's divorce proceedings, Pilar (through her attorney) accused Deion of setting her up to "attack" him then "repeatedly" called police until they arrested her. Deion's attorney told the court Pilar has failed to take their children, ages 12, 10 and 8, to school on time and has "been physically abusive" to them. The children are struggling in school and need counseling because they live in "a combat zone," he added. A mess!
