Ludacris Offends Women, Disrespects Military During Nightclub Appearance: report

Last Friday night, rapper and actor Ludacris was paid to a special appearance at Nightown nightclub in Destin, Florida. Apparently, he made impolite comments and pissed off some clubgoers who were expecting him to put on a show, including a woman named Deborah Derya Lanham. She called up the local newspaper to vent.

The rapper stood behind the DJ booth, according to Lanham, and did not perform his songs. He instead played them at the booth. He also made inappropriate comments toward women, Lanham said. In an apology post later deleted from Nightown's Facebook page, the club referenced those comments as well as those from the rapper that "disrespected the military." Melissa Matern, who handles marketing and events for Saltwater Restaurant Group, declined to repeat the rapper's comments. "It was unfortunate that he didn't perform to the standards that Nightown expected him to perform," she said. A promoter hired by Nightown organized the contract. It's unclear what the specifics of the deal were between the promoter and Ludacris' team, Matern said.

Deborah says half of the roughly 500 people in attendance were upset with the rapper. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a copy of the nightclub's apology and videos from the event are scarce, save for the one below, in which he makes a crass comment.
