Everybody knows fast food places are not safe for life, so this video of workers at a KFC restaurant in Braamfontein, South Africa literally throwing chicken on the dirt street and hosing it down, is not at all surprising. After the video, which was first posted to Facebook went viral and KFC took out a full page ad in a local South African newspaper that read: "We're sorry. We want to say sorry, from the bottom of our hearts, for what happened at our restaurant in Braamfontein. Our team members breaded some chicken before realising it had to be thrown away because it didn’t meet our high standards. Worried by their mistake of wasting breading, they decided to wash it off. However, washing chicken on the floor – even chicken we were going to throw away – is totally unacceptable and goes against our strict processes. We know that we’ve let down the people who are most important to us – you. We want you to know that we take this very seriously and have taken action to make sure this never happens again. We promise to continue to hold ourselves to the highest of standards and deliver you the great tasting chicken you know and love."
