Report: David Hasselhoff Was Fired From America's Got Talent

Remember last week when David Hasselhoff issued a statement saying he was leaving "America's Got Talent" to pursue on his own show -- to the surprise of almost everyone?

Well, according to The Globe, he was fired from the TV talent show because producers wanted him to go to rehab and were tired of filming segments around his drinking schedule.

"Sometimes producers deliberately kept the camera off him when it came time to give an opinion on a performance, focusing instead on judges Sharon Osbourne and Pierce Morgan," a source tells the tabloid. "David wasn't there when the show auditioned for its fifth season in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York [last October]. He spent time holed up in his mansion in Encino, Calif., drinking up a storm."

The report gets into David's finances, quoting friends who say the former actor is "broke" and is being forced to sell his $7 million mansion (which is now listed at $3 million because of the economy) to pay-off ex-wife Pamela Bach and maintain his "massive overhead" of lawyers and PR folks who he allegedly pays to cover up his drinking problem.

His friends are ominous. They say David may not make it to his 58th birthday on July 17.

"The way he's going, the only thing in his future is death. He's pickled almost all the time."

And as for that show he supposedly left "America's Got Talent" to pursue, sources say there is no show.
