Woman Sues American Airlines After Jamaica Crash

A passenger aboard American Airlines flight 331 that skidded off the runway in Jamaica last December has filed a negligence lawsuit against the airline.

Juline Allen, a single mother of three and was traveling to Jamaica for business, claims she suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash landing and has filed suit for damages in excess of $75,000.

Said her attorney during the press conference announcing the lawsuit: "Ms. Allen was unfortunately seated in the last two rows, she was in row 25. You've heard when you've flown about be careful of baggage falling. Well the plane landed with such force that in addition to breaking into pieces, knocking the engines off and losing the landing gear, the overhead compartments actually broke loose and she was knocked unconscious by being hit by the overhead compartments. Her first recollection is that she's one of the last people on the airplane, people are being trampled, there's panic, there's chaos and she's being screamed at to get off the airplane....She suffered a traumatic brain injury, she's been diagnosed with having a post-concussive syndrome, she's been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder, in addition to neck and back pain that will inhibit her ability to work in her two jobs."
