Woman Sues Ex Who Tried to Kill Her

A 60-year-old woman from Oregon has sued a 69-year-old man convicted last fall of trying to hire a hit man to kidnap and kill her, reports the AP.

In a lawsuit filed Friday, Catherine Snow alleges that George Ardizzone, who she was dating for 14 months, punched her and threw her to the ground when she tried to run from their home last March. She says she suffered a concussion and other injuries and seeks $1 million in damages.

George was found guilty of attempted aggravated murder and solicitation of first-degree kidnapping after evidence showed he offered the would-be hit man $15,000 to kidnap and kill Catherine last April, but that man contacted police, who recorded phone calls between the informant and George.

He was sentenced in January to more than 14 years in prison.
