Teenager Blinded By Hazel 'Eye Candy'

Erica Barnes, a 14-year-old from Jamaica, Queens (that's in NYC), has lost sight in her right eye and will need a cornea transplant after she bought a $20-pair of hazel-colored contact lens at a local beauty supply store. "They are dangerous eye candy that our children can buy anywhere," her stepmother Trina Swain says. FY-You: You need a prescription to buy contact lenses. And don't even think about surgery to change your eye color -- it's illegal and will mostly certainly leave you blinded, too.
