Man Beats Down Store Clerk Who Sold Him Small Condoms

A British man purchased condoms from a local shop, but when he went to return them because they were too small, the shopkeeper refused to reimburse him. So, the man, beat down the clerk, grabbed some soda to settle the debt and threatened to the clerk's life.

Student Jude Ukachukwu confronted the store owner and demanded a refund, saying his contraceptives had split during sex. A fight broke out when the shop boss refused to return his money and he grabbed fizzy drinks worth the same amount. During the row in Hatfield, Herts, shopkeeper Sasisedaran Sellathurai was punched in the face. Mr Sellathurai told St Albans Crown Court the attacker had asked for his money back because the condoms were the wrong size. He said: "I asked to see the pack but he said he didn't have a receipt. He started shouting he was a bad man and would kill me." Ukachukwu, 21, was convicted of causing ABH (actual bodily harm). He was ordered to do 150 hours' community work and pay £200 compensation plus £480 costs. District Judge Peter Crabtree said he may have felt frustrated by the way his complaint was handled but that there was no justification for violence.
