WATCH: Lady Smokes Cigarette While Using Oxygen Tank, With Predictable Results; Zonkey

A woman from Peoria, Arizona is hospitalized with severe burns after she engulfed in a ball of fire while smoking. AND. USING. AN. OXYGEN. TANK!!!!!!!!!!! We're not gonna call this woman a donkey. We won't. Maybe firefighters were wrong and she wasn't smoking while using oxygen because that would be a stupid thing to do, right? If you need an oxygen tank for smoking too much, you shouldn't be smoking, right? we're gonna stay on this story. Maybe she was cooking and her wig caught on fire. Or, a child was playing with matches. Or, there was gas leak and the home exploded. Or her cats did it. (Sidebar: A man died in Chicago last week after he bed caught on fire because he was smoking and using an oxygen tank.)

Remember yesterday we introduced you to three candidates for Mother of Year? Well, today here's a Father of Year front-runner. Police in Cleveland say Kevin Ford Jr doused his baby mama and their 18-month-old baby boy with lighter fluid then set her on fire. Tiffany Lawson threw the baby out of a second floor apartment window to a woman below then she jumped out of window herself in an effort to save her life. She suffered from first-degree burns to her right hand and leg and a broken right elbow and arm. The baby is doing OK.

Police in Port Charlotte, Florida sure work fast. A year after 18-year-old Krishaun Mercado beat her 2-month-old son until he was hospitalized hospitalized with a stroke and broken bones and fluid on his brain, she was arrested and charged with child abuse. Krishaun says the baby was born with the injuries. Bwahahahaha!

Jonathan Jaxson -- the world's worst publicist and noted famewh*re whom we previously banned from this blog -- needs your prayers. He reveals he was bullied by p0rn star Kim Kardashian's lawyers to the point where he attempted suicide late last year. He's undergone treatment and is doing OK now. It gets better. Boys and girls, life is worth living -- just stay away from public transportation, fast food establishments and Memphis.

Oh my! Mark Berndt, a teacher with over 30 years experience at Miramonte Elementary School, in Los Angeles, California was charged with 23 felony counts of lewd acts upon a child. The details are just mind boggling. The abuse was found out when the 61-year-old too film to a photo shop to be developed. More than 400 images were turned over to police. The photos included at least 23 third-grade students blindfolded, gagged, and in some cases, with insects crawling over their faces. Some of the photos also show female students blindfolded and being fed semen. I just can't! If convicted the sick POS faces life in prison.

In the Bronx, police swooped down on a, elaborate weed farm inside in a five-story building. Cops confiscated 800 marijuana plants and arrested three men, who were charging $5,000 per pound for the weed.

Frank Colla found $8,000 in a briefcase on the side of a busy highway in Tampa, Florida. For once someone is honest by saying he considered keeping the cash, but eventually Frank returned it to the owner, who had placed the briefcase on the roof his car and forgot.

Amanda Trujillo Banner Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, Arizona was fired from her job as a nurse because she informed a patient about possible complications following surgery.

Look! It's a zonkey!

WATCH: Lady Marries Building, Funeral Home Loses Woman's Body, Man Killed For Crashing House Party, Bad Mothers

With a name like Babylonia Aivaz, you know she's a bit nutty. She has to be, right? So when she married a Seattle warehouse last weekend, no one batted an eye -- except the people protesting the fact that it was a same-sex marriage. Yep, the building is female, too.

Speaking of batsh*t craziness, this crazy (Jewish?) lady unleashes craziness on passengers of San Francisco bus.

Last Friday, Sebastian Prevot didn't stop his vehicle far enough behind a stop sign in Houston, Texas. That, apparently is a major offense and police officers let him, know it. Three police officers pulled him over in front of his home and beat him up. His wife, Annika Lewis, 26, pulled out her cell phone and began to record video of the assault. Uh-oh! When the officers noticed they were being filmed, they punched her in the face and confiscated the memory card.

Melody Clark may be a grieving mother, but she's not stupid. After her daughter was murdered by her husband, Melody hired Henderson Funeral Home in Hernando, Mississippi to take care of burial -- but she refuses to place a headstone on the grave site because she's absolutely certain that's not where her daughter s buried. How does she know this? Mother's intuition, perhaps. Oh, and the fact that the funeral home allegedly doesn't know for sure where her daughter is buried. "They've tried to give me three, three different graves and neither place that they've shown me is my daughter's grave," Melody says.

No good happens after midnight -- especially when there's testosterone and liquor involved. Early Sunday morning, 25-year-old Matthew McCraney was beaten to death after he showed up unannounced at house party in Lakeland, Florida. According to police, Matthew showed up at the house party but he wasn't invited. Guests told him to leave. He did. But he returned and guests told him to leave again. On his way back to the party for a third time, he was confronted by Kristian Marlar and the two got into a fight and was beaten to death.

Meanwhile, in Burke County, North Carolina, we have a front-runner for Mother of the Year. When cops swooped down on a meth house, not only did they find $20,00 of "high quality" meth, they found a 14-month-old baby girl. The baby had been there for a week! None of the adults in the meth house knew the baby's name. They did say her mother dropped the child off and told her she was going to the doctor; she never returned.

And in Houston, we have another candidate. A woman paraded her 14-year-old daughter around several apartment complexes and forced her have sex with men for $20 to $50. Then it gets worse! The woman (who's not named to protect the girl's identity) forced the girl to have sex with her 47-year-old boyfriend and at nighttime took her to truck stops and sell herself to five or six men each night. This "mother" needs the electric chair.

And for the trifecta: Dalisha Adams, 26, is facing child endangerment charges after she abandoned her 3-year-old and 5-year-old daughters on sidewalk in Brooklyn, NY then drove off. After a few hours of just standing there on the corner, the girls, Domini and Dioni, were found by a good Samaritan. The girls were dressed warmly and carrying a pair of disposable diapers. According to neighbors, Dalisha (who, has another 8-year-old daughter) verbally abuses the girls. "She shouts at them 'Shut the f-- up! Get the f--- out of here.' I heard her cuss out her little baby," said one neighbor. "I hope she doesn't get those kids back. It's not right." Another neighbor adds: "She talks really dirty to her children and treats them very shabbily. She says things like ''l'll kick your f---ing ass.'" Shortly before they were found on the sidewalk, another neighbor overheard Dalisha telling the girls: "Stop crying. Shut the f--- up. I'm going to get you out of here." As we've said before, some people shouldn't be allowed to have children. Add Dalisha to the list. No more government assistance for her -- except a bed and three meals in prison!

As a reporter was covering the the arrest of hundreds of Occupy Oakland protesters, one lady (that is a lady, right?) decided it's the perfect time to show off her booty clapping skills. Classy.

Selling Tupperware in heels, wigs while maintaining your tuck ain't easy, but someone gotta do it.

Woman Struck By Microphone at Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Concert Sues

Last April, Allison Dees of Oakville, Missouri says she was in attendance at a Bones Thugs-n-Harmony show at The Blue Note nightclub when she became “sick, sore, lame and disordered” after being struck by a swinging microphone. In December she filed a civil suit against the group and singer Layzie Bone (real name: Steven Howse) for negligence.
The incident is alleged to have occurred April 27, 2010, at The Blue Note, 17 N. Ninth St. Howse and the group performed that day at the venue, according to court documents. Dees was near the front of the stage while Howse was “carelessly and recklessly swinging” a microphone in the air and “lost control of the microphone, launching it into the crowd in front of him,” the lawsuit claims. The microphone struck Dees in the head, resulting in bruises, contusions and severe lacerations. The lacerations permanently scarred her head, the suit alleges. Dees and her attorney claim Howse failed to take proper precautions to protect audience members from the dangerous microphone and sound equipment and that he was negligent in his use of the microphone. They also believe the group as a whole should be considered negligent because it entrusted Howse with a group-owned microphone.

source: Columbia Tribune
Allison is seeking unspecified compensatory damages. The lawsuit was filed on Dec. 5, but the iconic rap group has yet to respond to the claim. Oh, wait! Perhaps they're busy defending or settling another lawsuit filed by a fan who claimed several member of the group assaulted him on their tour bus.

WATCH: Bus Halts News Conference; Man Dies, No One Notices For a Year; Kraft Foods Admits Capri Sun Juice Pouches Contain Mold

This morning in Cincinnati, an official was holding a new conference about the collapse at the city's casino construction site that sent more than a dozen construction workers to area hospitals. But the presser was interrupted by a bus driver who crashed into a news truck then let the reporters and officials know they caused the accident. That driver, identified as Joann Searles, hopped out of the bus and told those gathered: "If this group of people would have moved out of my way I would not have ran into this truck. We still have a job to do, and I understand you all got a job to do, but I still got a job to do, I got passengers on this bus." With that said, the presser was moved to another location.

Last Sunday, someone broke into Blocker's Fine Foods -- a popular diner in Springfield, Georgia -- stealing a few hundred dollars. Police have no leads, but the restaurant owner is offering 16 pieces of fried chicken monthly, fries, coleslaw, dinner rolls and sweet tea free for a year to whoever comes forward with information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

Don't be a donkey. Don't post photos of your new Air Jordans to your Facebook page while you're almost 7,000 miles away home.

The world is going to sh*t and the next generation is to blame. This morning in Portland, an 11-year-old boy was harassing a mother on then threatened her with a loaded .22-caliber semiautomatic handgun. (His 13-year-old friend, had a BB gun.) The 11-year-old is in jail and at his court hearing today, he cried like a little punk. Where are his parents? That's the million-dolar question. (Sidebar: This happened on the same train where a mother and her daughters beat the ish out of a 14-year-old white girl.)

You might be a donkey if you attempt to purchase 10 kilos (22 pounds) of cocaine from your dealer, while dressed in your police uniform and driving your police cruiser. This happened in Memphis, so you shouldn't be surprised. If you read us regularly, you really shouldn't be shocked. According to police, 32-year-old Melvin Robinson, who's a Memphis police officer, was arrested Thursday while trying to buy the drugs from an undercover FBI agent. If convicted, Melvin face life in prison and up to $10 million in fines. Wow!

Donald Domsky died a year ago in his Wayne, NJ home and no one noticed. Now all of his "friends" are talking to the media. Where were they for the year that his body laid decomposing in a hallway? The mailman didn't say anything, even though the 79-year-old man's mailbox was full and mail was being taken back to the post office. BTW: He had a sister who lived 11 miles away and she didn't even care. Such a shame.

Officials at Kraft Foods say the worms that have been popping up in their Capri Sun juice pouches aren't worms -- it's mold. So it's perfectly safe to drink.

Family Kept Dead Granny in Storage Unit For 16 Years

It seems to us, if you're hiding a deep-long family secret in a store unit, you better make sure you are timely with your monthly payments. Right? When the owners of a self storage business in Clearwater, Florida called started to empty a unit that has been delinquent in their payments in peppering for an auction, they called up the renters who told them: "You can't go in there, grandma is in there!" Inside was a blue casket containing the remains of a woman -- which was embalmed and prepared for burial. The casket has been in the storage unit since 1995. Maybe these people couldn't actually afford to bury the woman, or they chose not to intern her so they could go visit the body and say hi.

WATCH: Babysitter Pours Laundry Detergent on 'Evil' Newborn Baby, Teacher Orchestrates 'Slave Game'

Mabinty Williams is behind bars where's she safe. She was babysitting a 4-week-old baby for one of her husband's co-worker earlier this month when she knocked on a neighbor's door and told them "there was a random baby in her house and she didn't know where it came from." She said the baby looked "evil" and asked the neighbor to come see it. The neighbor didn't take Mabinty up on the offer, but called police instead. By the time officers got the scene, it was already too late. Mabinty poured laundry booster and salt on the newborn's face and it was having difficulty breathing. When cops asked her how the detergent got on the babes face, Mabinty told them "I didn't do anything." The child suffered chemical burns to its eyes and mouth and is recovering at a local hospital. Mabinty is charged with child abuse and is currently in a Federal Way, Washington jail -- more than likely in a padded room, because b*tch is crazy!

During a taping of the popular Telemundo show “Cristina” in Doral, Florida last night, there was drama. Then again, there's always drama on that show. Anyhee, Corey Eubank (who's facing charges for assisting a tranny inject cement and Fix-a-Flat into women's buttocks) was a a guest, along with some of the victims. Sometime during the discussion, a woman from the audience ran up on stage and attacked him.

Here's 8 minutes of absolute lunacy! Earlier this week, a man entered an apartment complex laundry room and stole $75 in quarters from every single machine. It took him more than 30 minutes to tip over the machines and steal the coins. Cops arrested Edmond Ballard and charged him with breaking and entering and tampering with coin machines.

Were you expecting your tax refund check this week? Yeah, good luck with that.

Sh*t Samuel Jackson says.

When Deanna Dyer noticed that two men just burglarized her home, she didn't just call 911 to tell them to come quick -- she chased after the suspects, while on the the phone with 911 and carrying her toy poodle. And oh, she just had open-heart surgery. We need granny Karen to police that neighborhood.

Teachers in the Atlanta area don't have a clue. Weeks after a teacher got in trouble for including math problems that referenced slaves and slave owners on 3rd graders' homework, another 3rd-grade teacher thought it was a great idea to play a game of tag where some students were "slaves" being chased by "slave catchers."

Police Tell Battered Woman She's at Fault

Back on Jan. 11, Pamela Anderson called 911 in Gwinnett County, Georgia to report her boyfriend, Edward McGee, had attacked her and was trying to kick himself back into the house. But, when officers arrived they determined that although Pamela was bloody and bruised with scratches with a nasty gash on her neck and size 12 shoe prints on the door, she was the aggressor and threatened to arrest her. Wait, what now? Edward told officers Pamela charged at him with a brick and scratched his car so he pushed her to the ground in self defense. No one was actually arrested that night, but Pamela obtained a restraining order. The police department stands by its decision.

Meanwhile, in Tampa, Christopher Hanney is on trial for attempting to murder his wife, Audrey. According to the woman, Christopher assaulted her back in 2009 because he believed she had cheated on him and their oldest son was fathered by another man. What happens next is startling. Audrey says Christopher cut her with a knife, lit a candle and tossed gasoline on her. Christopher took the stand in his own defense and claims Audrey and another man tried to rob him. He said his wife tried to light him on fire using a candle, but her plan went up in smoke and backfired.

UPDATE, Jan 26: The jury found Christopher of attempted murder, aggravated battery and arson. He faces life in prison.

Man Kicks In Woman's Door, Shoots TV

A woman says 46-year-old Dwayne Davis kicked in her front door, stormed into a bedroom and shot the TV that two women were watching and left. No additional information was provided as to why Dwayne would do this, but since this did happen in Memphis, do we really need an explanation? Anyway, when cops showed up at the man's home, they found the gun, which had two spent shell casings. As a convicted felon, who was previously convicted of burglary and robbery, Dwayne isn't supposed to own any firearm so he was arrested and charged with possession of the gun and aggravated robbery -- even though cops say he didn't steal anything from the home.

WATCH: Breast Implant Saves Woman's Life, Chicago Has No Respect For the Dead

When a 41-year-old Florida woman forked over $6,000 for breast implants three months ago, she had no idea the saline bags would save her life. The woman says her ex-fiance's new girlfriend, Amy Winter, attacked her outside of his apartment yesterday, stabbing her repeatedly in the chest with a pocketknife. The implant absorbed the blows and prevented the woman from taking a stab wound to the heart. The victim's surgeon is giddy from the attention, told a local news station: "If this saves lives, there's nothing wrong with passing a law that everyone should have breast prosthesis." That's if they don't blow up inside your body or get lost inside your body or give you cancer. No thanks.

Meanwhile, in Forkland, KY 28-year-old Billy Joe Hays says long johns saved his life. He says two men attempted to and lit his pants on fire, but he avoided serious injury because he was wearing thermal underwear beneath his pants.

If you're wanted by police for peddling fake Louis, don't then leave your 5-year-old child alone in a hotel room while you go gambling. Mother of the Year candidate Xiao Xu Wu, 38, brought her son for a family-bonding trip to Mohegan Sun hotel in Connecticut, but when the boy discovered his mother was gone for more than an hour, he called 911 and he and the 911 operator had a nice chat -- while police officers swooped down on the casino and arrested his mother for risk of injury to a minor. The really sad part of this store is: the boy has to remain in state custody because Mother of the Year is from New York and doesn't have any family members living in Connecticut. Anyone wants to adopt a bright 5-year-old? How about this 5-year-old, who called police for his mom and grandma on Monday?

We don't understand these people. If you claim you take pride in your neighborhood and saw this trash piled up in front a home where the owner died recently, why don't you clean it up and stop complaining? Just sayin'.

Brandon Smith was arrested in Chesapeake, Virginia on Monday night for being indoors while black. A pizza delivery woman told police she was robbed and cops claim they saw Brandon and his friend, Brian Faulcon, run into a nearby home. But Brandon says he wasn't running, he was merely walking to his home with his friend when cops swooped down on the pair and arrested them because they fit the description of the robbery suspects.

Dr. Nancy Jones, who's the medical examiner in Chicago, is TERRIBLE at her job. There are hundreds of rotting bodies piled up at at the city morgue (see photos, in the video below) that lawmakers are introducing legislation Thursday to fire her. One one of those bodies is Brian Warren, a 52-year-old who ed last month. When Brian's family called the morgue to inquirer if his body was there they were told "he's not on the chart." See, that would make sense if they actually had a chart that logged the bodies in the morgue. Shame!

Meanwhile, in Dellwood, Missouri, mayor Loretta Johnson (who the city's first black elected official), is trying to get rid the city's predominantly white police department because they're terrible at their job. Hundreds of rapes and child abuse cases have gone unprosecuted and evidence have been tampered with, for example.

Uh-oh, black ministers in Houston are gonna have a fit. A 36-year-old woman was shot in Phoenix by a man who pretended to be interested in buying a $400 pair of Jordans.

Derek Stahlhut is an idiot. His first mistake was paying $4,885 to an online dating service -- a dating service with an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau that didn't deliver any dates and now he wants his money back. Yeah, good luck with that.

Vernice Ruenell Zagerman, 52, is facing child endangerment charges after she tried to give her 3-year-old granddaughter away to strangers at a Houston gas station. She told one of those stranger she could no longer taker care of the child -- who she was babysitting while her mom is at work -- and left in a cab.

While trying to evade a deputy who was trying to serve her with legal papers, Alexandra Osteyee-Hoffman embarked on a high-speed 10-mile chase through North Carolina. Cops threw out stop-sticks in front of her car, which popped one her tired. But that wasn't going to stop Alexandra; she tried to escape on foot. The 28-year-old was charged with a slew of charges, including felony fleeing to elude, failing to heed lights and sirens, injury to personal property, reckless driving to endanger, speeding and three counts of resisting a public officer. Her car was also confiscated and will be sold, per a new law in North Carolina which allows cops to sell cars used to flee from police. [Note: Video has no audio.]

Lesbian, Pretending to be Man, Makes Woman's Life a Living Hell When She Rebuffed Advances

If this story weren't true, it would be a scene from a movie. While estranged from her husband, Veronica Sifuentes turned to the Internet where she met a new man named "CJ." After two years of online dating, Veronica flew from El Paso, Texas to California to meet "CJ" and boy did she get a shocker. Not only were the photos "CJ" had been sending her were fake, but "CJ" is a woman. Veronica told her she's not a lesbian and therefore not interested and to have a good life. This is where it gets weird. "CJ" moved to El Paso to a house directly across the street from Veronica's and began stalking her -- even chased her down the freeway and showed up at her son's school. She continues to blow up Veronica's inbox and phone with messages begging her to continue the relationship. Last Thursday, Veronica filed a restraining order against the woman. Hopefully that'll give her a clue.

WATCH: Woman Connects With Burglar's Head; 5-year-old Calls 911 For Sick Mom, Grandmother

Victoria Alexis Jones is not going to be a victim. No siree! When a man broke into her Raleigh, NC home and attempted to rob her, Victoria beat some sense into him. She grabbed a bedpost and clobbered Lucio Miranda in the head and legs and waited for police to arrive. Lucio, as you'll see from his mug shot, won't attempt to break into a black woman's home again. No sire, Bob!

Oh, my. There's a special place in hell for Richard Morris and his wife, Tranace. Cleveland police say Richard, who sold candy to kids, raped and infected at least two teenager girls with HIV. The couple held a 15-year-old runaway captive for months, hiding her in a compartment in the sofa. Richard was hellbent on keeping the girl a secret that he installed surveillance cameras outside the apartment and had a police scanner inside the apartment. During the months-long captivation, she engaged in "consensual' sex with Richard and Trance and when she became pregnant with Richards's child, she was forced to have an abortion at a clinic in Detroit. Cops are now investigating three other cases where Richard infected other girls. If convicted of all charges, they could each face at least 55 years in prison.

A 5-year-old Caleb Sims is as cute as a button and he's also a hero, too. When his mother and grandmother fell ill, Caleb flew into action and called 911. He the operator the women's ages, the address and his mother's phone number, and described their symptoms as an ambulance was dispatched. It's really good to hear of kids doing well. You know, generally we have to report on this mess.

Don't use mall dentists.

Something about this isn't adding up. Earlier this month, a 7th grader in Houston asked his teacher's permission to go to the restroom, but his repeated requests were denied. In fact, the teacher told the 12-year-old boy she hopes he pees in his pants. He took her up on that. The boy urinated in a water bottle and the school called the district attorney's office to file criminal charges, but since the boy committed no crime no charges were filed. What's this teacher's deal? There must be something else going on, because this can't be the full story, right?

Aretha Franklin Calls Off Engagement

Weeks after announcing her engagement to her longtime jumpoff friend William "Willie" Wilkerson, Aretha Franklin has called the whole thing off. In a statement today, the 69-year-old Queen of Soul says, "Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time. We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends." Aretha had hoped for a summer wedding in Miami Beach with a reception aboard a private yacht. Maybe no sailing vessels were available?

Puffy to Launch Own Cable Network

Puffy aka P Diddy aka Diddy aka Sean Combs is planning to launch Revolt, a music-themed cable network on Dec. 12, reports Broadcasting & Cable. According to sources with knowledge of the project, Revolt is "a music and music news channel with an urban skew. One described it as the old days of MTV, but for more of the African American audience." So, basically it'll like BET of yore. The channel is a larger scheme by cable operator Comcast, which has committed itself to launching 10 "independent channels" over the next few years. Eight of those channels will be owned by Hispanics or African Americans. It's already a good year for cable networks targeting blacks: Bounce TV launched last September and two others -- Kin TV (co-founded by Charles Barkley) and Soul of the South -- will launch this spring.

WATCH: Crackheads Are Outta Contol! (Part 998,879), UPS Deliveryman Drives on Sidewalk, Black Women and AIDS

We know our stance on forced sterilizations isn't popular, but we're gonna continue to say it: People have kids just because it's too damn easy and some of these people shouldn't be allowed to have kids. For instance, homeless crackhead Ora Boler shouldn't be allowed to breed. The 35-year-old Mother of the Year Award nominee is charged with reckless endangerment after her newborn tested positive for cocaine. But wait! She has six kids and four of them were born with cocaine in their system. And yes, she lives in good ole Memphis!

A "lazy" UPS driver has been fired for driving his delivery truck on the sidewalk in Gainesville, Fla. This was also a school zone. Police didn't see him do it, but had they, the unnamed driver -- who's worked for UPS for 11 years -- would've received a $154 fine and possible points on his license.

Mark your calendars. January is "divorce month."

Blake Sanderford is a donkey - and, oh, yes, he's nasty. The 21-year-old from Metaire, Louisiana sexually abused his dog and posted photos of the assault on the Internet. Idiot.

Sex addict Andre Davis, who proudly calls himself the "Gangsta of Love," was sentenced to 32 years in prison for not telling 11 women he had sex with that he was HIV-positive. In November, a jury convicted Davis of 14 of the 15 felonious assault charges against him. Ohio law requires those who are positive for the virus that can cause AIDS to inform sex partners of their status. In many cases, the 29-year-old father of five didn’t inform his partners. In some, they asked and he lied. During the trial, Andre blamed the victims and during sentencing told the court he's a " loving and compassionate man". He says he didn't tell anyone about his status because he didn't want to be judged. (Sidebar: None of the 11 victims have tested positive for the virus that causes AIDS.)

Meanwhile, in Dallas, Texas, black women are eight times more likely to be infected with HIV than white women. In fact, although black women account for 22% of the city's population, they make up 71% of all HIV infections.

We don't know what this woman on a train in Toronto is on or saying -- possibly because she's speaking "pirate."

Courtney Hailey is facing criminal charges after he forged his time sheet and was paid $3,700.55 for work he didn't do.

Meanwhile, in Albuquerque, NM, Karim Jaekel, 40, entered the Peace and Justice Center with two knives. He was dressed in robes and proceeded to stab a a statue -- while speaking in tongues. He's charged with aggravated assault. Aggravated assault?

What the hell just happened?

The body of a homeless man was found in a load of laundry that arrived at a Phoenix industrial facility. Workers at a medical facility said they found a man sleeping in the laundry bins and told him to leave, but he returned to sleep and died either of a medical condition or suffocated amid plastic bags. A bottle of liquor was found with the unnamed 54-year-old man's body.

Etta James is Dead

Legendary soul singer Etta James died Friday at Riverside Community Hospital in California with her husband and sons were by her side. Born Jamesetta Hawkins in Los Angeles to a teen mother and unknown father (she suspected her father was the pool player Minnesota Fats), Etta died from complications of leukemia. She was 73. Etta had been suffering from dementia, kidney problems, and battling leukemia. Last month, her live-in doctor announced that her leukemia was terminal, and asked for prayers for the singer. During her illness, her husband Artis Mills and her two sons fought bitterly over control of her $1 million estate, though a deal was later struck keeping Mills as the conservator and capping the singer’s expenses at $350,000. She was addicted to the drug for years, beginning in 1960, and it led to a harrowing existence that included time behind bars and sapped her singing abilities and her money, almost destroying her career. It would take her at least two decades to beat her drug problem – her husband even went to prison for years, taking full responsibility for drugs during an arrest, even though James was culpable. “My management was suffering. My career was in the toilet. People tried to help, but I was hell-bent on getting high,” she wrote of her drug habit in 1980. “I was a street kid, living in rooming houses,” she said in 1993. “My mother was just 14 years older than me and she had a hard life, too. I was always running away from home, getting in trouble. What motivated me was fear and hard knocks.” After she hit rock bottom, she finally quit the habit and managed herself for a while, calling up small clubs and asking them, “Have you ever heard of Etta James?” in order to get gigs. Her career then had a resurgence. In 1984, she was asked to sing the national anthem at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, and her career got the resurgent boost it needed, though she fought addiction again when she got hooked on painkillers in the late 1980s. Drug addiction wasn’t her only problem. She struggled with her weight, and often performed from a wheelchair as she got older and heavier. In the ate 1990s she reportedly weighed more than 400 pounds and required a scooter to get around. In 2003 she had gastric bypass surgery and shed some 200 pounds. She was inducted into the Rock Hall in 1993 and won six Grammys. Etta was portrayed by Beyoncé in the 2008 film "Cadillac Records" and when Beyoncé sang "At Last" at one of President Obama's inaugural balls, Etta Went OFF on Beyoncé and dissed the president. She later said she was joking. But her health went into decline. In perhaps her final high-profile appearance, a 71-year-old James sang her signature “At Last” on ABC-TV’s top-rated reality show “Dancing with the Stars” in 2009. Last October, she retired from recording. We don't want to start nothing, but do police know where little Blue Ivy Carter was last night? Just saying'. (Mrs Carter actually released a statement which read, in part, "I am so fortunate to have met such a queen. Her musical contributions will last a lifetime. Playing Etta James taught me so much about myself, and singing her music inspired me to be a stronger artist. When she effortlessly opened her mouth, you could hear her pain and triumph. Her deeply emotional way of delivering a song told her story with no filter. She was fearless, and had guts. She will be missed."

Everyone knows "At Last", but get into "Tell Mama."

Nicholas and Andrea Murrey (both 29) of Pasadena, Texas have been charged with injury to a child by omission after their 2-month-old baby boy was found to be severely malnourished. The boy -- who had never seen a pediatrician since he was born -- weighed a mere 7 pounds -- the same as his weight at birth. The couple's other three kids were also malnourished and taken away. These people shouldn't be allowed to have kids. We've said it so many times: having babies shouldn't be so damn easy. Especially for people who can't afford to take care of them. But get this, Andrea told investigators she was unable to take the baby to a doctor because their roommate wouldn't let her use the car. And Nicholas' excuse? He works nights cares for his kids during the day. Idiot.
